First of all thanks for visiting us and looking at the experience we offer.  This page is a little heavy but is needed to do business professionally and to share with you, our customers, the policies and rules we follow.  We hope to be as open and honest as possible and if you find anything wrong, misleading or just plain wrong let us know.

Booking & Cancellation Policies:


  • Prices are for complete boat
  • 25% deposit due at time of booking
  • Remaining balance due ahead of casting off (departing)
  • Credit card payments accepted through Square.  Arrangements for cash payments can be made


  • If cancelled due to weather we will refund or reschedule with you, which ever works best for you.  Weather cancellations are caused by actual or forecasted moderate rain (or drizzle) on the evening (6pm) before the day of the cruise or a small craft advisory (or worse) being issued for the San Francisco Bay for the period of the cruise.  We will contact you directly to confirm the cancellation and at that time you may request the cruise continue as planned if you wish (we don't mind the rain or swell), reschedule or cancel
  • If cancelled for other reasons by clients up to 72 hours before the trip the deposit can be used to re-book a cruise at an available time within 3 months of the planned trip.  Within 72 hours of the planned trip a client cancellation will result in lost of deposit
  • If cancelled by FreeDom (other than weather) the client will receive a full refund and rescheduling offer


On-board Information


  • Bring warm clothes in layers with a final wind/water layer.  The bay can be hot and cold on the same 2 hour trip!!  We are not kidding.  Hat and gloves are also a good idea.  We have loads of space to hold all this stuff while we don't use it
  • Non-marking soled shoes would be great.  Sports/tennis shoes okay.  Bring a change of socks - just in case
  • Plan your food and drinks if you are bringing them.  We can keep them cool (not frozen!) 
  • Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your planned departure time
  • Final payment will either have already been made or made on-board before departure
  • You will be asked to sign our waiver before departure


  • Sail FreeDom will provide you with life preservers and a place to hold your drink
  • We aim to depart on time but it's your trip so will work with you as much as possible.  We will aim to return on time but we are at the mercy of mother nature so will discuss timing in more detail as we go
  • We can extend the trip if there are no bookings within 90 minutes of the new requested return time.  Rate of extension will be same hourly rates
  • If return to dock is required before the schedule return time due to customer request no refund will be due.  If return to dock due to vessel issues a pro-rated refund will be made
  • The captain's requests will be followed or that will imply a request by the customer to return to dock
